This Privacy Policy explains how MatchDex (“the Bot”) collects, uses, and protects your data when you use the Bot on Discord.
1. What Data We Collect
To provide its functionality, the Bot collects and stores the following information:
- Discord User IDs: Used to uniquely identify players, track their points, and save their card inventories.
- Discord Server (Guild) IDs: Used to save server-specific configurations (such as active channels for spawning cards and server admin settings).
- Message Metadata: The Bot requires the Message Content Intent to read messages in configured channels. This allows the bot to trigger random card spawns based on server activity and process text commands. The Bot does not store the content of your messages permanently; it only reads them in real-time to function.
2. How We Use Your Data
The collected data is used exclusively for the core functionality of MatchDex:
- Managing player card collections, points, and trades.
- Determining when and where to spawn new cards in a server.
- Executing commands initiated by users.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Data is strictly kept within the Bot’s database to serve its features.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Data is retained as long as the Bot is in your server or you are actively playing the game.
- Requesting Deletion: If you wish to have your player data (inventory, points, profile) permanently deleted from the database, you can request this by contacting the developer in our official support server.
5. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in this document. Continued use of the Bot constitutes agreement to the updated policy.
